President of the Akwaba-Culture Association, Director of the Frat-Mat Editions Department (Editing) and promoter of the Prix Ivoire for Francophone expression literature, Isabelle Kassi Fofana was recently awarded the Medal of Knight of the National Order of Côte d’Ivoire and designated Ambassador « Libres ensemble pour la Francophonie » by the General Secretary of the IOF (International Organisation of the Francophony) in July 2017.
Isabelle Kassi Fofana made her debut at Nei-Ceda before becoming Director of Frat-Mat Editions since 2011-2012. She was also awarded the « Prix de la fierté de la décennie » in June 2017 at the 10th Anniversary of the Ascom (Ace of Communication, Marketing and Event), a major event for professionals in the field in Abidjan. This award was started in 2007. At this time, it had revealed the Akwaba Culture Association. This associaition promotes the Francophone expression literature, now, for 11 years, with the Prix Ivoire recently opened to authors from the diaspora.
Isabelle Kassi Fofana has more than 20 years of experience in the promotion of the book. It also organized the first participation of Ivory Coast at the Paris Book Fair. The Akwaba Culture Association, founded with childhood friends, is becoming a platform of promotion for African autors and writers. The Prix Ivoie is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie of Côte d’Ivoire, the International Organization of Francophony (IOF), the French Embassy in Abidjan and the Librairie de France Group of Côte d’Ivoire which will celebrate its 80th anniversary this year.
With perseverance and passion, the Prix Ivoire has become a must-wait event and highly anticipated on the continent and internationally. Every year, it is enhanced by the presence african icones of the litteratecy world. In 10 years, this price had allowed to valorise 7 womens : The Senegaleses Racine Kane and Mariama Ndoye, the Cameroonians Elisabeth Moundo Ewombe and Hemley Boum, the Haitian Kettly Marx, the Moroccan Bahaa Trabelsi and Marie Jose Allie from Martinique, the latest winner.
